Student Research Center

The library is happy to offer a search interface designed specifically for secondary school students, according to their needs and search abilities. The Student Research Center provides students in secondary schools with the most appropriate research tools for easily obtaining the information that they seek. The database can be accessed in-house and remotely.

Ebsco Influenza Information Portal

Due to Pandemic H1N1 Influenza (formerly known as Swine Flu) and concerns about the 2009/2010 flu season, the EBSCO Publishing Medical and Nursing editors of DynaMed�, Nursing Reference Center� (NRC) and Patient Education Reference Center� (PERC) have made key influenza information from these resources freely available to health care providers worldwide. Movies & Munchies: Sunday December 27th

Spend a Sunday afternoon at the library enjoying snacks and a movie...wait, What movie? Well, that's entirely up toyou! The movie with the most votes will be shown. Please vote no more than once a day. And don't forget to sign up for the program so we know how many snacks to get!

The Friends of the Arts @ the Hauppauge Public Library Fourth Annual Helen and Jerry Lustberg Community Photography Contest is going on now.

Entries must be in at the library by Friday May 1.

Awarding of prizes will be at our gala on Saturday May 16 at 2PM.

Museum Pass Rules and Guidelines

The Hauppauge Public Library now circulates museum passes for The American Museum of Natural History in New York City and The Long Island Children�s Museum in Garden City.

This is a pilot program. Please be advised that the rules and guidelines may be changed in the future.

Please be aware that we only have one pass for each museum.
If a pass comes back late or it is lost, the library may not be able to honor your reservation.
Each pass may be borrowed for 3 days which includes the day you pick it up.
Patrons are expected to pick up the pass on the first day it is reserved and return it on or before the due date.
A late fee of $20 will be charged for every day the pass is late.
The full price of the pass will be charged if it is lost.
Once a pass is reported lost it loses all value.
A waitlist will be taken for dates that are filled up.
Patrons on the waitlist will receive a phone call if there is a cancellation.
Passes can be reserved beginning on the first of the month for any time that month or the following month.
Patrons can only have one reservation at a time and may only check out one pass at a time.
To reserve a pass, patrons must come into the library to the Children�s Desk with a valid, unexpired, unblocked, adult library card with fines not exceeding $5.00.
No phone reservations will be accepted.
Museum passes are for district residents only.
You must have a Hauppauge library card to borrow a pass.
